POSITION SUMMARY: Bravo Health is seeking a positive, courteous, experienced candidates for a passenger van operator to transport elderly passengers to and from an outpatient/urgent care clinic. A successful candidate must have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement, be CPR certified, be first aid certified, be able to conduct basic vehicle maintenance and repairs (i.e. changing tires), and have experience working with the elderly or special needs passengers. Candidates should be able to follow schedules that are subject to last minute changes (additions/subtractions to route) and be able to establish efficient routes for completing pick-up and drop-off responsibilities. Extensive familiarity with roads and traffic patterns in and around Baltimore, MD, is necessary. The ability to calmly and effectively manage unforeseen circumstances, such as medical emergencies, is also required. Must follow and uphold Bravo Health policies regarding passenger behavior (i.e. smoking, food/beverage). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Must be able to operate 7+ passenger van, tire changing equipment, First Aid Kit, wheelchair lift, dollies/hand trucks. Operates vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with DOT Regulations. Keeps accurate and complete logs of all travel activity and passenger issues. Conducts vehicle emergency repairs; able to change tires and handle minor on-road maintenance. Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories and reports & coordinates vehicle maintenance repairs. Establishes and monitors daily and weekly trip inspection & preventative maintenance programs and maintains records regarding the maintenance of all vehicles. Must read and understand traffic signs and signals, road maps, and route schedules. Maintains cellular/PTT/radio contact with office to respond to necessary route updates or resolve passenger issues. Assists in activities and special programs as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. 2+ to 5 years full-time experience providing vehicle transportation to passengers with special needs (or equivalent experience and familiarity with Philadelphia roads and traffic).
